2001 Malibu Cd Player

Hi all. Recently I have purchased a pioneer cd player and I also went and bought the scosche dash install kit for my 01 Malibu. Does anyone know of a site that will guide me through the process of installing a cd player? Also I think there is an anti theft system in my Malibu and was wondering if i need anything to disable it. Also is there any special harnesses I need to buy to install the cd player? thanks!

I would STRONGLY suggest you purchase a metra or schoche wiring harness for your malibu, It saves a lot of headaches.

Once you have this peice, remove the wiring harness from the new deck, and connect the wires together using whatever means you like. I reccomend shrink wrap and sauder. The harness you purchased will be labeled, and your deck will have instructions as to what wire is which.

Hopefully you purchased a dash kit. Installation is as per the manuals.

Connect your wiring harness you made to the deck, and then to the stock wiring harness.

Check the radio by turning the car on. Check all the speakers by using your fader/balance. Re install it and the kit.

It isnt hard if you have the right parts, for example, the wiring harness from Schoche or Mantra, and the dash kit. Take your time. Double check everything.

i have a 01 malibu and i also plan to get a pioneer installed. my advise is go to best buy. i recently had a problem with the passlock and i do know the censor is very sensative if you decide to install yourself be careful of the wrong wires. that passlock wire and the instalation of your cd played could be something not to mess with it will lock the engine. see a profesional its only 120 bucks. trust me the anti theft system on a malibu is no joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
