Tameo 1/43 Williams FW07

Hello Everyone

Need a little brake from the Williams FW13B I working on just getting frustrated with the fit problems so I thought it would be best to walk away for now . So I decided to build a Tameo TMK 304 Williams FW07 kit from the 1979 British G.P. The drivers that year where Alan Jones and Clay Regazzoni Jones retired and Regazzoni went on to the race win and to give the Williams Team their first G.P. victory. This is my first attempt at a 1/43 scale Formula 1 car. Right after I started building models again last year I came across a few 1/43 builders sites and I just couldn’t believe what they were doing with theses little F1 cars. So the seed was planted I new I wanted to try this scale. I saw a post on another forum that ask what would be a good beginners 1/43 kit. Well Paul from littlecars.com suggested a Williams FW07 or a Lotus 91 reason being that 1 the front suspension is not as complex as the newer F1 car and ride height isn’t as big of an issue also the rear wing is a single element. So I have been fiddling around with the kit for a while now. Checking out how the parts go together and seeing what has to be done before I can start. The Tameo kits are very well made the white metal parts are very clean and so far nothing major has had to be done just the usual getting rid of mold lines. The photo-etch parts are really nice as well as the turned aluminum parts, the instruction are pretty straightforward two decals sheets are supplied and a double-sided page with color photo’s of the real car.
The Kit

Test fitting the body and part of the front suspendtion.

Put the rear wing together

The body and the rear wing have been painted with Tamiya TS-26 Pure White.

I started putting the decals on the body

Also the rear wing has been decaled

The instrument panel

Here is the drive train sorry for the crappy picture I hate the little digital camera I have for close up's the stuff that look like dust is noise or flash bounce from being so close that's why I don't use this camera to much my other camera takes better shots just can't get the close.

More to come soon thanks for looking

Re: Tameo 1/43 Williams FW07

Looking good! I have a couple of examples of the 1/20 version (one new, one restoration) in my build pile, waiting for me to collect references and parts. Now you've got me thinking of doing the 1/43 too! Where did you find it?
I assume there's no engine detail, as the engine cover is not detachable? Couldn't see any parts, either. Apart from the size difference, what's it like going from 1/20 to 1/43? What's the biggest difference?

Your right there is no engine to build the biggest difference is the size of some of the parts very small. So you have to be careful not to lose any of them once I got used to the tiny parts I found it very enjoyable to build the photo etch parts are of excellent quality and have been fun to work with I never used photo etch parts before. I will have some more photo's up soon

I really like the look of this so far, the crispness and detail belies it's size. Appears to be a great little kit and your work so far is excellent.
