h22 head on a h23 - what am i getting myself into here?

i want to put a h22 head on my h23 prelude si. what am i getting myself into here? (read: would it be a better idea to just do a whole h22 swap). i want the bottom end torque of the h23 but with the top end power of the vtec. if i do this, what do i need besides the h22 head and a p13 ecu? and installation of course... thanks everyone in advance

I've never done the Frankenstein swap, but I've owned an Si Prelude (h23) and a VTEC lude (H22). The 3-4 more pounds of torque on the h23 is barely noticable compared to an h22. And the 30 more hp and the 1500 more rpms on the h22 is extremely noticable compared to an h23.
IMO if you can afford to do the complete swap do it.

Re: h22 head on a h23 - what am i getting myself into here?

i researched the h23v swap pretty throughly this morning and have come to realize that dollar for dollar, im better off with the h22 swap and building the h22. the only thing is, i want to eventually add boost and from what ive heard - be it right or wrong i dont know - adding boost to a vtec engine is a problem-starter due to the high acceleration of rpms and the cam changeover. what can anybody tell me about this? is this correct?
