2005 GZox Zeta

Hi guys. This born like a relaxing OOB project, meantime I let my 360 rest a bit after recent commitments, waiting for well deserved finishing (hopefully LOL).

But.... too early I heard the putty call and also subconciosly I ordered '05 version decals insthead the awesome 04 version (awesome also cos need just a OOB Xanavi Z, damnnnnnnn!!!!)

Oki with order:

the car:

Great uh? I love it so much. The Shunko decals sheet (I'm lazy to scan the sheet but Shunko guys are probably more, this is the postcard stamp I found in their site...) luckily they don't call it "poster" like the late trend (KA models etc.... to me a poster is 30 meters by 10....)

Colors are spectacular, also the fluo red, but I planned to mask and spray something.. well you'll see following.

Go with the mods:

Note the front fender in the 05 car:

The engine hood is in the '05 car clean, the intake larger and with different wings: decals seems designed for the 04 car.... this is another thing 'cos I'll spray something..... shunko....

The tail is completely different from the 04 car:

So far what i done:

04 front fenders:

05 modified front fenders:

04 rear fenders/tail

05 modified rear fenders tail:

I liked to show stuff now before the primer (well I have to do the other side now, boooring, why cars haven't 1 only side??????) so you'll see the way I done the bodykit, with styrene strips and Squadron Green Putty.

ciao

Re: 2005 GZox Zeta

Thanks a lot,

forgot a couple things:

the job on the engine hood: air intakes was widened and sidewalls recreated by styrene sheet, now I have to work on wings...

And about rims: '05 GZox version mount those strange kind.... BUT luckily in the round 1 they used '04 version rims..... wufffffff

ciao

Totally true!

Now, good work, gio! I like the decal scheme you chose. But it won't be the easiest to spray, IMHO?

Eitherway, I m watching (not holding my breath)

Fantastic works buddy! The body modifications are unbelievable! I have to admit the Z is quite a good looking one of recent Japanese sports cars. And the G'zox livery is beautiful too. Keep up Crazy Horse! Bravo!

Re: 2005 GZox Zeta

Updated!
You folks probably won't believe if I say how much efforts I must put on it to have the beast ready in primer... at least 10-15 primer layers (ground layer 2K automotive primer over sealer, than a lot of passes of Tamy primer ever trough AB) followed by inspection for faults, putty, corrections, sandpaper, panel line scribing, panel line disasters.... CA, sandpaper, putty, rescribing... I pissed off now but I'm happy since it's ready for black.

May be I do next the fluo red front bumper with the Tamy laquer skipping those complex decal.

Last update, a lot of time ago, I done only half car: I complete the job with the bodykits and correct a bit the shape of both front bumpers: seems ok to me now. Than I got to think at vents on the front hood: wasn't easy so far: 16 little wing with convex shape to glue aligned... Dunno know you but gio isn't CNC, not yet

BTW... done. I guess only who own a 2004 Z may recognize all the job done: one of those cases where a lot of job is almost unrecognizable.

Well: ready for black & awesome Shunko decals. Stay tuned, the black beast is coming

GZox Z ventzzzz:

Little bumper's corrections:

Like I said rims used in the 2005 Round1 was similar at the 2004 Xanavi Z: similar but not the same: I guess I would skip the job and use them so..

ciao!

Re: 2005 GZox Zeta

Awesome work! Tedious and slow I'm sure.

Any chance you'll make resin copies of the shell?

Re: 2005 GZox Zeta

Thanks guys.

@Jmwallac: I guess not: first this body is for sure not printable in resin now: at least without to add a lot of thickness wherewher. I know: it's a shame also for me: there're a couple other cool versions (woodone 2007, the awesome Houzan Z )

Hi

Looking good - very good! It is incredible how much the cars change from year to year even though the 'look' the same...
