Hello, I drove my truck to work yesterday and whe nI went to leave after work all it would do was turn over. Having owned this truck for 11 years and gone through 3 fuel pumps when this happend I thought that the pump had gone again. Bought a new one and changed ot out today, Well it would not start. Just truns over. Now I noticed that I do not have a engine service light comming on. I am at a lose as what could be the problem. Before I take the truck to the repair shop I would like to ask if someone has any idea. Please help. Thanks.
Larry If you would like to email me I would appreciate it.

Re: 1994 Dakota Will not start
Did you check the power supply for the fuel pump?
Do you have spark? |

Re: 1994 Dakota Will not start
Yes there is power to the fuel pump. No spark. the coil powers up to 8 volts then drops out to 0v. Checked all the relays and fuses.
Well since I don't have a diagnostic reader, The truck is at the shop. I miss my 67 pontiac 8 wires, one carb,

Re: 1994 Dakota Will not start
I have the same problem..however I get good spark, can dump a bit of fuel in the throttlebody and it will fire right up, but cant hear the fuel pump whine when to pre-pressurize the fuel line, I know the fuel pump works
Can the fuel relay get old or go bad after time? I have switched relays out in the box in the engine well...but it still wont work, sometimes it does, sometimes it wont, but once it works it works fine and will stay running no problems Oh yah..I have a '92 Dakota with the 5.2L 318V8 |
