97 Taurus Audio Help

I bought the car used from a friend of a friend. On the audio board thing, (forgive my terms I have no car lingo what so ever) where the radio is and such, it has a button to seek through 6 CD's and next to the Cassette button there is one for CD. But the problem is where do you put the CD's in? I looked in the Guide book and it said for the Audio to look in the Audio Handbook, which the previous owner lost some time ago. So please help i can't find anything. I just want to know where I put the CD's in if that is possible?

Basically all the Taurus' stereos are designed to be hooked up to a Ford CD Changer. The controls are there for it whether you have the changer or not. If you do have one I believe it would be in the trunk underneath driver's side shelf.

Re: 97 Taurus Audio Help

Welcome to the forum!

On the '97 Taurus sedan, the CD changer, if equipped, would be located in the trunk on the lower left rear (as you are facing the open trunk lid from behind the car). As 97TaurusGuy suggested, just because the deck has the changer controls unfortunately does not mean your Taurus is equipped with a changer. The good news is since it is changer ready, you can add an OEM changer, wire it up, and the head unit will control it.
