1994 gmc sierra exhaust question

I have been looking through the older forums and really didn't see anything and wasn't sure if i had already asked this but heres my question.

From evey muffler out there , what has the best overal performance output? I want to upgrade my exhaust system and id like to get a kit or even 2 really good mufflers and get the piping bent.

I was told CherryBombs are the best for power but Magnaflos Sound the best.. Not really sure what to think so i would like to hear everything and anything on this discustion

Re: 1994 gmc sierra exhaust question

My experience has been only with the "cat-back" systems.

I had a 91 truck, 350TBI, that I installed a Gibson bolt-on single 3" exhaust. Before it had a "homemade" dual, single muffler, 2" pipes straight out the back and it rumbled at all RPM's. I couldn't even hear the stereo sitting at a stop light. Well, it rusted out so I put in the Gibson. As far as performance "get-up-and-go" from a stop is concerned it was a wash. The only difference I noticed was when I was towing on the highway. The Gibson exhaust seemed to allow better highway speed changes for getting on and passing. The Gibson flow-thru muffler really sounded good in a hard throttle but when driving like grandma it was very tame. BTW, it was a breeze bolting it in, everything fit perfectly with no hassles.

Now, I have a 92, 350TBI, but it has a FlowMaster system with dual exits straight out the back on it. This truck has better towing get-up-and-go and highway throttle than my 91 did. My dad had the FlowMaster exhaust installed by a muffler shop before I got ahold of it and of course it has a "tame" muffler. At grandma throttle she sounds pretty much tame, but when stomping on it, thats when she wakes up the dead.

Good luck with your search.

Re: 1994 gmc sierra exhaust question

Yeah i was told FlowMasters are actually one of the better mufflers out there, but i want a rumble not that cracking like i have heard flowmasters do, but who knows? All i know is the highFlow mufflers sound great but they just arn't giving me the power i know i should be having.. Has anyone heard anything good about DynaMax? I see alot of kits for around $180 or so and they have a great rumble but they are also the makes of Thrush so.. i dunno if i want to risk money on that.
