95 Suburban Dies

I recently purchased a 95 K1500 Suburban with 210,000 miles. The truck looks and seems to run great. The other day I took it on a couple hundred mile round trip with the family. We ran the AC the whole way. When I exited the interstate, the truck died. I coasted to a stop, opened the hood, saw nothing strange, started the truck and drove home, at 2 other stops before I got there, it died again. When I started it, the truck spat and sputtered, and eventually came back to life. I had no more problems until Friday when I went out of town again and the truck did exactly the same thing.

Just as preventative maintenance, the plugs, wires, and thermostat have been replaced as well as the radiator flushed. I have no problems when I just drive around town for the day, the issue seems to be when I drive some distance. The AC being on doesn't appear to have any affect.

Any help would be great. I'm hoping it's something simple because now my wife is afraid to go out of town with me in the Suburban (maybe this isn't such a bad problem after all...LOL)

I forgot to mention that there are no codes present. Service engine light is not on.

Hey 93 SHO, this seems to be an epidemic, my 93 is doing the same thing. I have tried a lot of parts and have yet to find the cause of my headache. My truck is currently in the shop and I do not plan on picking it up till it is fixed. My truck runs perfect off idle, so it is hard to think it may be a terminal issue for the beast. I have to date replaced;
fuel filter,
cap, rotor, plugs, wires
IAC valve
TCC Solenoid
Ignition coil
Pick up coil
ignition control module

I've also checked for vaccum leaks, removed the throttle body and cleaned, checked timing, blah blah blah, everything there is to check. With a '95 I would suggest checking the fuel pressure, there should be a Shrader valve on the fuel rail to attach a guage to. I am not too familiar with the 95's so someone more knowledeable can help with the particulars. Fry-

Have you done a cold and hot fuel pressure test on it? Sounds like the problem is somewhere in here. Possibly a dirty fuel filter, maybe fuel pressure regulator, maybe a pump on the wane.

I just had the same problem with my 97 Suburban. Turns out it was the fuel pump. You'll probably notice that the problem will get worse as the week goes on. Listen to see if you can hear the fuel pump come on when you turn the key on. It will come on for a few seconds everytime you turn the key on.
