Exclamation starts and dies

i have a 99 bmw 5series
and i start my car and once i start the car it dies like 1 second later

any ideas on what the problem is?

Hi dsun87
It is always helpful to post your year, model, mileage, etc.
If it starts for a second that means you are getting spark. Assuming that you have kept up in the maintenance items, I would first look at your fuel pressure to ensure that the fuel pump is doing the job. Let us know how that goes and we can take it from there.

Also look underneath the car and check that there is no broken fuel lines. Everything could be fine except for the busted line spitting gas all over the ground.

if the vehicle will continue to run with your foot on the pedal and dies when you release the pedal, the idle control motor is bad
