Must get a better ride on 2000 Accord EX

Two part question this time.
I must get a smoother ride out of this thing cause my back hates the ride. Do you know if struts from TL or any other smoother riding car fit on my Accord? I know I can do it, question is how $$long will it take me…
I also noticed that calipers are very rusted on the outside & I hate the look of it. Is it worth it to mess with them knowing that they probably have 160+k on them or just get new calipers (paint’em), rotors, pads (these are on their way in the front anyway) and slap them on?
Thanks,

Do you have aftermarket suspension? The stock suspension is smooth as all hell and mine is still comfortable lowered with low profile tires.

I don't see why you would need to replace your calipers at this time unless they aren't working properly. Sand em, paint em and put em back on. If you want new brakes or you expect to replace the pads or rotors anytime in the near future then you might as well do it all at once so the rotors, pads, and calipers can be broken in together

Thanks!
No, the guy who sold it to me said it is the original suspension & he was the one and only owner. Ahm, forgot to tell you I have a bad back, but I LOVE Hondas hence, a problem. Got a set of new tires today, Micheline Primacy MXV4, much smoother ride, but I am still sitting on two cushions at least for now.
Breaks, that what I was thinking of doing but I never "Sanded" the caliper in my life. I've sand blasted the calipers and painted them a looooong time ago, but never sanded.... Is there a special procedure for that outlined somewhere.
Thanks again,

Re: Must get a better ride on 2000 Accord EX

So a bad back is the culprit and you tried to blame your Accord! For shame

But seriously, its easy to make a soft ride hard but not so much the other way around. If you get a hold of some softer springs that will work with the current setup then more power to you but I haven't personally seen it.

To sand the caliper just grab some medium (60-100 grit) and fine (100 - 200 grit) sandpaper from home depot and take to the caliper first with the medium to get the corrosion off and then with the fine to leave a more finished surface for the paint to bond with. Getting the calipers off is the hardest part of the process since honda bolts are apparently tightened by Zeus himself
