Re: dreadful maf sensor!!!!!!!

Ok, when you say it won't start, does that mean no juice, no anything or does it crank just not turn over? Also, what code does it throw? Sounds like something fuel, air, CPU related...so that narrows it down to just about anything!!! It's almost like once the cars CPU has a chance to get some input to adjust the MAF, it messes up the Fuel-air mix.

Re: dreadful maf sensor!!!!!!!

Had similiar MAF problem just after dealer replaced fuel rails. After changing sensor and lot of screwing around discovered that mechanic had placed the plastic tube in the intake hose, between air filter and MAF, improperly and it was restricting the flow of air. I removed the entire plastic tube and fixed the problem. No more check engine lite and MAF codes.

Sounds like fuel pump to me. If it wont start on its own but if you spray starting fluid it will start and then dies once the fluid runs out it isn't getting the fuel.

Re: dreadful maf sensor!!!!!!!

most important thing ive learned about my 97 aurora...is that big dealerships will screw your car up or misdiagnos it, whether on purpose or not thats debateable but the service techs at big dealerships are wanna be mechanics.....and the guy who has the two bay shack and lets you bring in your own parts do a way bettter job. of course i always am very friendly and tip them cuz i save 50% on 600-1000$ jobs. thats a lot!
