2000 Cheroke Evaporator

Any help with "how to" get the evaporator lines loose from the feed lines? All the Haynes manual says is remove the clip and disconnect. That's not working for me...

What you are dealing with are "quick disconnect" fittings requiring a special little tool. Not to worry as you can usually get them at most auto parts stores. You need to know the diameter(s) of the line(s) so you can get the right one(s) or to make sure the set has the one(s) you'll need.... They are nothing sophisticated and are usually made of a hard plastic. The tool is split; you open it and wrap it around the line. One end of the tool has a "tang" or protrusion that will slip into the female side of the quick disconnect fitting and release the clip springs holding the male end in place.
