'99 Camaro Z28 or '97 SupraTT? Which Would You Buy?

Right now i cant decide on a Camaro or Supra. I am into doing aftermarket to the exterior and have more options with a Supra. I think they both have the same amount of horsepower. The Supra in my opinion looks better than the Camaro, But the Camaro is cheaper. I like Supra's because they are rare and you dont see them so when i am driving down the street the car will get noticed more, but on the other hand, i have owned a '95 camaro before and know what they are capable of. I am just curious what you guys would do if you had the money to buy a TwinTurbo Supra or buy a 99 Camaro for half the price. I just wish they made like a wider body i could put on the camaro or customize it myself if i knew how, Please let me know your opinion, Thanks.

Whoops...Since you are going to ruin the exterior...I change my vote to Supra.

Not Ruin it but make it wider like the GMMG Camaro on www.gmmginc.net
I don't wish to make it look riced out but a nice sleek wider body. Thats all.

I like Camaros but I probably go with the Supra, especially if you are planning on kepping it for a very long time. A clean supra will be worth more than a clean 4th gen Camaro.

tough call though.

Everyone has their own opinions. But I don't like that Camaro.

Widebody cars aren't my thing. Body kits aren't my thing. Exterior mods really aren't my thing....

Re: '99 Camaro Z28 or '97 SupraTT? Which Would You Buy?

Hhhmmm...tough choice. Considering the Z is cheaper, that means more money left over for mods. The Z could definately be made faster than the Supra. But supras are rare around here and I turn my head to see one everytime I get a chance.

Speaking of rare, I saw a skyline type R in the parking lot when I was leaving work tonight. I've seen it twice before in the last year and a few friends have seen it drive by also. Don't know what's done to it, but I finally verified that it is right-hand drive. And that's ultra-sexy in my book.

The supra's with the turbo are fast from what I hear. But I have never tried to fit my fat ass in one so that is just hear-say. No matter what car you get you will be happy as long as you do not buy a lemon.

Re: '99 Camaro Z28 or '97 SupraTT? Which Would You Buy?

if i had to pick, and I didnt have to pay, id deff. get the supra.. then sell it and buy a maro or vette...and mod the shit out of it to go faster then the supra..

same amount of $$, more faster in a 'maro/vette.

just a few months ago i saw a 65Kmiles supra, real clean..going for ~60K. compared with a VIPER. going for <30..

and vettes..the Z06's here are going for ~30K, from the dealer..still with warranty. id deff. get the z06>stock supra.

If I had the money I would definately go with the MKIV Supra. I have only seen a very few of them. There is a huge aftermarket for both cars so any modding would not be tto difficult. Camaros rock, but these are two really different cars as far as how they are set up, price, powertrain, etc.

Hmmm.... Toyota... had one... JUNK. You couldn't PAY me to buy one.. no matter what model it was... that is, unless it had breasts.

If I absolutely HAD to buy an import? I'd move to Germany and buy a 70 Camaro... and another Rottie. And me and him would drink 40 ounce beers and do some burnouts in a Fart Injected 454 70.
