WIP: Corvette Z06 (C6)

Well, since my Viper is taking a little break, I started on a Z06. The color is Cobra Colors, and I know there's orange peel, but I ran out of paint (I'd used it a few times before, including a ruined C6 Corvette) and I finally got it to be as brilliant as I wanted, so I can deal with a little orange peel. I wish there was someone in the US that made good paint like Cobra Colors used to. Well, here are the pictures.

Re: WIP: Corvette Z06 (C6)

I really like your color choice and the subject as well. But Iīd change or add a few things. If you thought of it yourself, just give them a pass:
Something is wrong with the paint job. It looks like it is way too thick and not crisp and clean enough.
The underbody would look better, if you would darken the parts a little. Try to give them a wheathering or a a wash.
Also, try to use BMF oder silver foil beneath the rear lights. The result of the rear lights will be more realistic.
Nevertheless, your engine looks ood and the final result will be a nice model. Keep up your enthusiasm and interesting choice of color and subject combination.

And donīt mind people not replying to your Threads. Happens to me all the time. Just watch my 365 GTB/4-Thread.

not a fan of this kind of cars, but the works look really promising, and the color was absolutely a killer and suited the car pretty well! keep it up mate!

Re: WIP: Corvette Z06 (C6)

Thanks for the replies. I've been seeing it a lot on the board, but what does "ood" stand for. I originally glossed over it as a misspelling of the word "odd" but maybe I'm wrong.

Thanks for the advice about the taillights, however. I don't have any BMF, but I did use Model Masters Silver Chrome. I swear to God, this paint is amazing. You open the bottle and it looks like someone melted the front bumper of an old Cadillac and gave it to you. I absolutely love it. So I used that instead... hopefully it'll look good. I did that after I took the following pictures of the body outside, after a second clearcoat to lock in the decals. The car basically GLOWS.
