88 IROC Stalling, Backfire, Hard starting
I read many Posts here trying to figure out my Wife's 1988 IROC, I have the 305 TPI and it had been a little hard starting for a while - it would crank and then start.
Last Fri. we took it out and on the way home, she stalled it ( It's a 5 spd. ) then it would not start, I got in and cranked it for a while and it finally started but ran weak, had no power and even backfired once or twice and I limped it home under it's own power. I scanned it and came up with a Code # 21 ( TPS throttle positioning sensor ). Spark was weak and I had a Replacement Coil so I plugged the coil in and it fired right up, I disconnected the Battery to reset the Computer, scanned it and NO codes, and have been using it for 2 days now, My wife took it now and it runs well. Just some info I thought might be helpful out there. Timmy from Connecticut |

Yes. I have been driving it for 4 days now, works great!
I like the Rambler. My car is a 69 SSRS that came from France, I'm putting a 454 in it W/ TH400. Cars is mint, bought it like 8 yrs ago, I have little ones and Coach every sport, I'll get to it someday. |
