radio problems

I'm having a problem with my radio, it play when it wants to. I've also noticed that when the radio not playing that the open door alarm does not sound. everything come on, but it does not make a sound. has anyone else had this problem, or know how to repair it.

Depends on the year of the truck newer styles use a class 2 data bus system and the chimes are run thru the head unit check for loose connection to radio or loose fuses or more likely a bad radio
