Low Coolant Sensor for 99 Olds Silhouette
Anyone have any tips on changing or cleaning a low coolant sensor on an Olds Silhouette 3.4 Litre engine. Light comes on intermittently and coolant has not been low at all. Probably needs a flush which I'll do soon but wondered where the sensor was located and any tips. I believe the sensor is right below the radiator cap...
Thanks. |

Re: Low Coolant Sensor for 99 Olds Silhouette
Hi,
have you checked the resivoir? If the sensor is in there you may be running low on fluid, but the radiator still be full. As well, if the sensor is just going bad, it could be in there as well, I'll have to double check and look myself. But you check and if you find it before I do, please post so we all have the answer

Re: Low Coolant Sensor for 99 Olds Silhouette
Hi,
Well I just went outside and checked, and you're right, on the passenger side when you open the radiator cap below the transmission coolant line is the low coolant sensor. I'd say try cleaning it real good and flushing, and if it still comes on intermittent, then it's likely going out and you'll have to get a new one-and you'll probably have to go through a dealer to get it. Good luck, let us know how it goes. Mrs. Prewitt |
