Grand Voyager Stalls on IDLE RPMs.
Hi.
I tried to find out answers for my problem on forum, but with no results. My 97' Plymouth Grand voyager 3.3 L, had main computer replaced. After that I got a problem that it stalls very often when I have to slow down, let say approaching intersection, on stop sign and what is most irritating on exits from ramps (suddenly no power steering in a middle of curve). Sometimes I can drive for a few days and everything is OK, but sometimes it happens a few times per day. So far I noticed that it happens on cold and warm engine. I spoke with my mechanic, but he couldn't find anything unusual and it is tricky because whenever I went to shop everything was OK, no stalls on test drive. Is anybody had that problem? All help is much appreciated. |

Re: Grand Voyager Stalls on IDLE RPMs.
Your Idle Air Control might be gummed up or flaking out. The passages for it may also be carboned up. A sticky EGR valve can cause stalling at idle. Finally, the Throttle Position Sensor may have a bad spot on it.

Re: Grand Voyager Stalls on IDLE RPMs.
Thank you Rawtorque.
I will check them. By any chance do you know maybe where Idle Air Control is located in this vehicle? 3.3L V6. It is kind a strange, because it never hapens when vehicle stays in park. It always hapens when engine lowers RPMs. It goes to normal about 800 rps and starts lowering to ~500rpm and ooopss 0 rpms. Once again thanks for help. |

Re: Grand Voyager Stalls on IDLE RPMs.
BYAB,
We had many problems with our Grand Voyager doing that. We replaced the throttle postitioning valve, no luck. Replaced the EGR but it still had a problem. Finally, we had the O2 sensor replaced. That seemed to fix the problem. I would start with that since it is the easiest and cheapest to fix, then go from there.
