Question Re: Anyone have flowmaster system on a 1997 Cobra or similar with no other major mods??

Still looking for input on the 40 series Delta Flow mufflers. Anyone out there have them on their Cobra or GT?

Re: Anyone have flowmaster system on a 1997 Cobra or similar with no other major mods??

If it helps any I had 1 40 series delta flow on my 1990 F-150 years ago. I just replaced the stock muffler with the flow and had a new tail pipe run with a 3.5" chrome tip. It was very quiet. You could tell it was a flowmaster if you went across a bridge with high walls or went thrue a tunnel. Other than that you had to be standing beside the tail pipe to tell it wasnt stock. Going down the road or pulling a hill if the windows where down you could hear it some, but not like I wanted to. Needless to say, it was very quiet.

well my friend had 30 series with offroad h-pipe if you ever wanted to get loud watch here http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...c62f87e18e.htm around 2:30 and also around like 9 min in or so.

but since you want mellow go with 40 series flowmasters or any other 40 series and you should be fine

if you havent decided yet id like to re-emphasize my opinion a 40 series 2 chamber (NOT delta flow) would be my choice

Re: Anyone have flowmaster system on a 1997 Cobra or similar with no other major mods??

Im having problems with 6 cats on my 98 GT, but i already have single chamber flows, but i want a more throughty sounding stang, it sounds held back, i cant find a way to "up grade" and stay legal,.. i have a post about that too...
On the question you have, id say go for the 40 series, that sounds great on a stang for not being obnoctious... the 50 series would not be worth spending, trust me my single chambers at idle are not that loud, but maby more than you want, go with the 2 chambers!

Re: Anyone have flowmaster system on a 1997 Cobra or similar with no other major mods??

If you still want it quiet but with some good sound louder than stock, I'd go with the 3-chamber Flowmasters. Not the 2-chambers. I think I said this earlier but, I had a 92 5.0 with off road H-pipe and 2 chambers and it sounded AWESOME!! But I was also 23, now I'm 33 with a 5 year old and neighbors I don't want to piss off. Just at idle they weren't too bad but, early in the morning or late at night your neighbors might hate you. Driving around they were OK, unless I had a headache, or a long day at work, then I hated those things. But when I would get on it, they just sounded MEAN and LOUD!!! A friend also had the same muffs. (2 chambers) but he still had the stock H-pipe and his wasn't anywhere near as loud as mine. So you could be OK w/ the 2ch. but just to be safe I'd go w/the 3ch.
