why doesn't Studio 27 put Barcode decals for their Ferrari models

I hate the feeling of them never putting a full Marlboro decal package, but to not have the Barcode is just aggravating, seeing that it doesn't show tobacco sponsorship. I really want to buy one of the 1/20 models, but I'm not gonna make the plain white version, I'm gonna use the Marlboro or Barcode.

does anyone know why S27 and some of the other companies do the same thing?

When it comes to decals, it all breaks down to licensing rights. They are A) expensive and B) can be hard to get. Of course producing them in countries where copyright laws are often times more of a 'suggestion' can make this much easier.....

How long have they been using the bar code on the F1 cars? (I watch as much as I can but I never noticed)

since 05 I think, but Ferrari or the Ducati no longer use a blank white box logo anymore, they use the barcode. and I don't think making the decal would be much harder to do, espcially when you see the barcoding

Re: why doesn't Studio 27 put Barcode decals for their Ferrari models

It appears that Studio 27 are not bothering to include any of the tabacco sponsorship whatsoever in their new / reissued kits, whether it be for the non tobacco advertising races or not. They seem to be content with Tabu Design cashing in on the aftermarket cigarette sponsorship decals. It is possible that there is an agreement or shares between the two companies or with Cartograf.

Re: why doesn't Studio 27 put Barcode decals for their Ferrari models

Actually, as I understand it, M4rlb0r0 or it's owners went so far as to copyright the barcode logo's as well. Recognizable part of the brand or something to that tune. The first of these issues (I know of) started last year when Tameo released their F2005's.

So it's not a case of S27 (or Tameo, or who-ever) "not bothering" - they're legally not allowed to put them in.
