Engine Code - P440

I have a 99 cavy and its omitting that code and 0442 0446 something system leak,,, i hardly doubt that putting a new gas cap would solve this, would it u think? also, i need a smoke test too.....damn cars.

maybe, i know the lights not burnt out cuz it comes on for a second or 2 every time i start the car, it has also come on a few times in the past cuz of actual problems it was having
