Help with ticking in a '95 Z24

I have a '95 Z24 that has been ticking from under the hood for some time. Up till recently i didn't care to much about itsince i was told it was normal for this particular engine(16val.4cyl.DOCH). But it has gotten worse. Was told it's the timing chain(not belt), supposedly it has a metalic timing chain inside the engine. Has anyone elase had this problem, can i get a perfomance chain instaed of paying a fortune to get a factory one, and how easy could it be to do? I know that's alot of questions, but i have one more, since it's an automatic, can a cold air intake work onn my Z24 to boost HP?

well im not too familar with your engine but it could also be a Valve thats clattering. which is pretty bad also. you need to have that checked out. since you said its been doing it and its just getting worse i think it would prob be the valves. also a CAI ( cold air intake ) helps boost HP in all cars regardless of tranny type.
