Looking to buy a 04 G35 and no not much about the car.

Hey, I am planing on buying a lighly used 04 G35 Auto, my price range is in the low 20K and i was looking at a 03 GTO and a new R/T Charger. All these cars are in the same performence class, and I was hopeing to compare the cars but i know very little about the G35 except for the basic's i learned online with Hp and engine size. I was looking for someone with more experience to help me out thanks!

Dosen't the gto have the 6.0 liter engine? The g35 has only a 3.5 v-6, not bad but deffinatly not fast. Have you found a g35 for low 20k?

The 03 GTO's are 350hp but are still large cars, i was hopeing the G35 would be quick becasue of the fact that it is smaller and and still has 275hp. Is the G35 not a fast car? Yes i did find a pearl white 22k miles for $23,500. I am going to have the inside of the car cheacked out this Thursday.

Well, z-cars guys will argue with me, but no they are not fast. Sure you can make them fast, but they are by no means make your butt hole pucker up fast.

Well any thoughts or ideas on what i should start off doing to the G35 if im looking for speed. Small things like shift kits...Any brand or specifics? And do you suggest i get a new exhaust system even tho the G35 sounds like it comes stock with a nice one.

How much money are you willing to spend to make it fast? What kind of shift kit are you talking about? What do you want it to compete with ?

After buying the car ill have close to 2k to mess around with the inside of the car. Im not looking to do major changes like turbo kits, small things. I did not have a exact shift kit i was looking at i havent started looking. If a shift kit is a good idea would you happen to have a suggestion for one? What eles could i do to the G35?

You can go to nismo.com or whatever the infinity site is and look there for ideas. Sounds like you have talked yourself out of the gto.

Okay thanks alot, and yea after alot of thought i talked myself out of it. Since im looking at a used cars a GTO is a stricly performence car which makes it difficult to find one that has not been torn a new one. The G35 im looking at this guys GF had and she just got a mercedes. So he is getting rid of it.
