Gearheads--rpm ??

So, I'm sitting there downing a cold 1 or 2. Then this ? somehow pops into my mind?? We read RPM's off the dist which turns at half the speed that the crank does. So at 3,000 RPM on the tach does that mean the crank is turning 6,000?? Just one of those ?'s that pops into my 63 year old mind. Just glad I could remember it long enough to post it!!!!!!!!!!!................Steve

Well a 66 year old mind says any tach design takes into acct that factor when it is runs off the dist, no it is engine rpms.
