Re: Best car for $4k - $5k and WHY?

I would definatley go with the intega GSR. and yes you can find one around for 4-5k that is in good condition you just have to know where to look.

Re: Best car for $4k - $5k and WHY?

How about Infiniti i30 1996 model? I am getting one for 4K.

My friend tells me that Nissan introduced this vehicle in 1996. I was wondering if this is a reliable car... especially since that was their first year of manufacturing the car.

The current owner of the car said that the Check Engine Light on the car came on a few days back. Anyone here know of any known problems with this car?

Any info about this model will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Best car for $4k - $5k and WHY?

I'm in the same boat as the thread starter. What can I expect from an acura legend?

The infiniti cars are pretty well built but like every car the first year models arent usually the most reliable. Thats when most problems arise in a new car model and are removed. The check engine light is a pretty general light so there could be alot of things wrong. Check the fluids first.

Re: Best car for $4k - $5k and WHY?

I'm looking at the same price range (little higher, I'm thinking more 4-6k), and I'm finding a lot of nice late 90's subaru's that fit the bill (Impreza's, Legacy's, etc). Granted you're not going to find an RS or WRX for under 6 without some sort of problem, but, hell, I hear they're great cars and plenty of mod possibilities in the aftermarket. They don't look too bad either.

Of your choices I'll have to echo the Integra GSR thought. Best bang for your buck on that list.
