1950 chevy on s-10 chassis

I have recently acquired a 1950, i think has rear corner windows, and the frame is completely rusted out. The body is still in decent condition. I have heard of these trucks being placed on s10 chassis. any one know anything about this kind of project?

A really nice guy -- Alan Baron -- might be of some help, though he is an IH freak. Read this article about him on 'The Automotive Chronicles' here. I think it has contact details so you can reach him.

If you think Chevy literature might help you to figure this out, try these pages for info on your 1950 -- Chev brochures, Chev dealer literature, Chev books, magazines, manuals... Or write to this super efficient lady Sharon McLellan at sharon[at]mclellansautomotive.com.

Re: 1950 chevy on s-10 chassis

You'd have to measure up a S10 chassis to see where the cab sits, how far back the engine will be located and the general wheelbase and track width dimensions. Be prepared to make up all new cab, bed and fender supports. It could be a fun project if you have some good welding and fab skills.
