ABS Light

My ABS light is on. I used an OBDII to check codes and nothing comes up. Brakes work fine. Any ideas?

Re: ABS Light

I had the same problem. In my case I turned the wheels so I could get at the connector where it attached to the hub. I disconnected it and checked for bad contacts and or frayed wires. I reseated them with some dielectric grease around the edge of the rubber lining. The light went out and has not come back on. So I my situation the connector was not seated firmly. That makes sense since I had both hubs replaced. The mechanic probably wasn’t being though.

If the light is still on it is possible the ABS sensor in the hub is bad. Did you receive other codes from the test? Did you reset them?

Perhaps one of the other more experienced members could give you some advice on that.

Also, do searches on the forums using keywords like “ABS” or “brakes”. I found lots of information which was very helpful.

An OBDII scanner will not scan ABS modules. You need a highline scanner
to scan them

Re: ABS Light

I had both of my front wheel bearing assemblies replaced because they were grinding. When I went to take the test ride afterwards, the ABS light was out and hasn't come on since.

Re: ABS Light

A bad alternator can also cause an ABS fault
