Hey guys,
I have a 94 Bravada. Last year had a transfer case prob. which my husband fixed. Since then I've had several tranny leaks. My mechanic repaired it in October for $377.88 by replacing front tranny seal. In early May this is what was done: replaced frnt trans seal, rear main seal, oil filter mt seal, power steering pump (didn't know it was leaking), front crank seal, for a total of $1,045.09. This p.m. it started pouring tranny fluid out. Took it back and he said it was probably the converter torque seal. Is this not something that should have been changed to begin with and should I be charged with the additional labor and parts? I mean they knew there were MAJOR leaks originally. I love my Bravada (even though gas is $145,0000 a gallon) but what should I do? |

Re: 94 Bravada transmission leaks
The torque convertor seal is the trans ft seal, same part!! Ask them now what?

Re: 94 Bravada transmission leaks
They are huh? Well, could anyone tell me why 2 front tranny seals would start leaking so soon? Could there be something in the torque converter that's making them leak?

Re: 94 Bravada transmission leaks
Without a disassembly for inspection how can this determination be made, there is a gasket/seal from the pump to the trans case, the convertor seal which is mounted on the pump and the convertor itself, which can leak.

Re: 94 Bravada transmission leaks
I had a front pump bushing (holds up the end of the torque converter) go bad on a Turbo 400 on a '70 W-30 I used to have (it wasn't anything like an A990 but it was still pretty fast :>] ) and it let the front seal blow out pretty fast.
