95 Sable in-dash Radio Controls
I had Circuit City put in a CD/Radio receiver into my 1995 Mercury Sable LS a couple of months after I purchased the car. They basically told me there was no way to keep the functionality of the indash buttons located to the right of the steering wheel.
I know nothing about cars at all but I decided it'd be fun to do some small repairs on my car myself. I want to be able to use these buttons with a new CD receiver. Is there a part or something I can buy to be able to use the buttons already in the car or will I have to reinstall the old radio to get them back? The stuff I found was for 1996 Sables and up...should I look into Ford Taurus parts, too? Thanks! |

Re: 95 Sable in-dash Radio Controls
I also have a 95 sable that I put a Pioneer CD/Receiver in and there is no way to use the switches with an aftermarket radio....the inputs for external tuning and volume control simply aren't there on the aftermarket. To make these external controls work again you would need to install the OEM radio.

Re: 95 Sable in-dash Radio Controls
Does anybody sell a cover that will fit that slot in the dash to blank it out? I wandered a junkyard yesterday a little bit hoping to find a factory one (didn't know if all Sable's/Tauruses in that style had the controls or not) but was unsuccessful.
