1987 Camaro won't stay running
I have a 1987 Camaro that on a few occasions will not stay running in the morning only. It will start up every time but 4 or 5 times in the morning it will not keep the idol up to stay running. I have to keep my foot on the gas and 2 foot the car most of the way to work (about 12 miles). It has a new Alternator and Starter. Don't know if it is a Fuel Pump problem or what. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Re: 1987 Camaro won't stay running
think your car is carbrated right?
if so might be the choke. need to find out if it has a electric choke. if so wire might be off. also check to make sure the butterflys are working right. might be sticking alittle spray with carb cleaner. |

Re: 1987 Camaro won't stay running
The car is fuel injected. The only times I have had an issue with it staying running has been in the morning. It was not necessarily that cold those few mornings so I don't think that is the issue (I live in central Florida). I don't know if maybe it is a fuel pump (need to check the pressure) or a clogged line etc.

Definately check the pressure.
Also when was the last time all the routine maintnance items were gone through? I assume the check engine light is not on? |
