And The Window Problems Continue....

Okay so here is my new problem, I was wondering if anyone has experienced/fixed this problem before. My window glass holder and vertical stabilizer is completely destroyed. The window arm(the part that holds the glass) has completely snapped off where it is attached to the vertical stabilizer.

My Car: 1996 Pontiac Firebird(power doors/windows)

Now I have 2 options I believe.
Option 1: I can buy a door from my local junkyard that is completely fresh(no dents/dings) and put that on in replace of my door. Problem is that the door is green and my car is black. So obviously I would need to have it painted.

Option 2: Buy the same door from the junk yard but remove all the window guts from that and place it into the door of my car. Problem is I have no idea how difficult this is going to be and if it is even possible, I can't seem to see how you could remove the panel that holds all the window pieces into place.

Re: And The Window Problems Continue....

The part that you want is the window regulator assembly.

This should come with everything you need, and really should not be that much.

Sometimes these even come with the motor, however, sometimes they do not.

I would make a trip to the dealer in your area, and ask them how much the regulator assembly would be.

That is def. the way to go. If you get one from the junkyard, you don't know how good that one is either.

They are not that hard to change, it just takes some patience.
