Re: Jaguar XJS TWR sports UTE (pickup conversion)

Update!

I did some work on the engine...

...and sanded the body:

I think the overall shape is better than on the original body, especially when viewed from the side

What do you guys think?

Cheers
Sebastian

PS: Let's see how long it takes you to find the little joke

Re: Jaguar XJS TWR sports UTE (pickup conversion)

Super job on the body so far

Better than the original?...Not worse, for sure

I love the detail decaling you did on the engine. The fane belt! I love that kind of stuff

Re: Jaguar XJS TWR sports UTE (pickup conversion)

Hi Seb,

looks good so far.

The little joke is the orange decal "Cool Rat" or something like that ;-))

What do you plan for the trunk area, it is larger now.

On some of the silver painted hoses of the engine molding seams still can be seen

I agree with Micha, it's great but touch-up those part may be a good idea.

I'm wondering the next step would be... a BRG (spell right this time my personal UK trainer LOFL) hounting break... wow!

Re: Jaguar XJS TWR sports UTE (pickup conversion)

Well, since it's come up

I also saw that but was too nice (timid) to mention it. It does rather detract from the other awesome work you are putting in. Actually I was surprised to see it.

hmm Micha...you missed it by 4mm That's the original "Coolant" sticker by Hasegawa.
>> It's the "church belt" sticker that reads "System Drain". That belt also drives the A/C compressor...you know what I mean.

I plan to do a pickup bed (kind of). It's going to be the work mule for a Jaguar shop.

Thanks guys! I guess that comes from working on it all night and taking pictures just before rushing off to the university in the morning
@Stevenski: You can PM me if you're too timid to post it

No, seriously....I appreciate constructive critics. I didn't see it and now I can fix it before it's too late

I'm working on the interior right now....first time flocking

Laters...

Stop!

Before you go further look at this: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=554434

Before you try white glue etc (if that's what you are going to do) try a test this way. I PROMISE you it works. The effect is 1000000% better than other ways. (you can't always see it in photos nut in 1/1.....)

See? Sometimes I am not so timid

Re: Jaguar XJS TWR sports UTE (pickup conversion)

Hi Steven,

thanks for the link to your great tut. I actually looked at it a long time ago.
What I did is the following:

- paint the areas to be flocked with a matching oil-based color
- dump flocking on it
- press
- shake off the excess flocking

Worked quite good, but I'll use your method for the floor mats.

Cheers
Sebastian

Looks great! The flocking looks really good, and that's a nice, simple method

Re: Jaguar XJS TWR sports UTE (pickup conversion)

Hello again,

I painted the exhaust and weathered it with the Tamiya weathering set (rust).

The bed is basically done...just need to sand it and start thinking about details

Thanks for watching. C&C welcome.

Cheers
Sebastian
