'93 maxima Sunroof questions
Hello, I just bought a 1994 (4th gen) maxima and I have some questions about the sunroof. In the manual the sunroof buttons are shown as two buttons on the interior light but mine doesn't look like that. For the sunroof I have what looks like a little keypad next to the interior light with buttons: Close, open, vent, and one with a little symbol and a few letters that glows red. When I press or hold the open button the sunroof only slides back about an inch before it stops and I have to press it again and again to keep it going. Same thing happens when I try to close it. Any info about the buttons and sunroof operation would be helpful. The sunroof works in all the operations but it doesn’t seal in the back all the way. When I close the sunroof with the button so that it won't go any further, there appears to be a small space between the sunroof glass/seal and the roof. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: '93 maxima Sunroof questions
My Altima sunroof buttons work similar to yours, but I only have one rocker type switch button. There is a space between the back of the sunroof glass and the roof, but you should be able to feel and see a rubber gasket in the space. Perhaps you have a aftermarket sunroof. Some times its hard to tell the difference.

Re: '93 maxima Sunroof questions
I will take some pictures tomorrow so everyone can get a better idea of what I'm talking about. I went and played with the sunroof a little and have some details. When I open the sunroof just to test the closing, when I hit the close button it moves an inch at a time like I said so the 2nd to last time the button is pressed to full sunroof closesure makes the sunroof drop in the back. The way the sunroof stops right before that is up high and then it will drop down when I press the button the final time. I tried leaving the sunroof in that up position but when I move the key to the off position the sunroof goes nuts and seems like it's tryint to autoclose. Here's a pic of the sunroof pad. The button on the bottom is the asc button, I dunno what it does but if I press it, it glows red.

Re: '93 maxima Sunroof questions
I think you're right about it being an aftermarket sunroof. Does anyone know what the acs button does?

Re: '93 maxima Sunroof questions
Do you think the switch panel that you press is causing the sunroof to open a inch everytime the button is pressed in any direction?
