Re: my latest drawing WIP

Very good work!

I feel like I'm repeating myself in the last posts, but hey, there's really some great car art coming up here.

Honestly, your drawing looks great. The perspective is perfect and I like how you add and color the interior instead of covering it up by some cheap glas shadings/reflections. I think the headlights are the best part of all.

Don't know whether you're interested, but again, I found the german roots of this one. It was called Opel Ascona here, the predecessor of the Opel Vectra.

It's always the same. The car is developed overhere, but you Aussies are finally the only ones who managed to make it look cool and give it some charisma. There has never been any version (the guys at Opel wouldn't even had thought of it) in Germany like this one with all the spoilers and the stripes. It was only available in the "old grandpa with hat"-version.

That's great to hear! I have been wathcing your drawings and am so impressed with them. In fact, my only 'complaint' as such is that you don't draw cars that I adore!!!!! tee hee There are only a handful of Commodores that I like - the VL Walkinshaw, VN SS Group A and VR GTS-R. And even then, I am not really a fan of 'The General', but I have owned a Camira in the past (piece of crap!!!)

If you could ever bring yourself to draw any of the Skyline GT-R series especially the R32 (no rice though), or the Lancer Evos, Subaru Impreza (GC8), Honda NSX or Series VI Mazda RX-7...... And I do have a soft spot for the 993 Porsche 911 Turbo...... I loathe 'riced' cars personally.

But I think it's great that you are drawing cars that I personally see most days rather than exotics that I will only ever see in glossy magazines. And your ability is awesome. I thank you for posting pics of your work here for me to enjoy.

Are you in Sydney or Melbourne or one of the larger cities?

Re: my latest drawing WIP

I love your drawings. I love the GC8 Imprezas too - especially the non-riced standard WRX, WRX STi and 22bs...... But, as you may have seen from my other thread, my true love is the Skyline GT-R (R32 is a special favourite).

I'm in Hobart, but moving to Canberra to live and work in the next month or so.

No, that's a different car.

This Holden Commodore was based on the German model Opel Commodore C, where it got it's model name also. Later the Opel Commodore was dropped and the Holdens were looking like Opel Senator and then later Opel Omega for the VT Commodore (but still technically different from the Omega and still closer to the Senator).

The Opel Ascona C was known as Holden Camira in Australia and it's a smaller and FWD car, the Commodore was RWD (both Opel and Holden versions).
