Time magazine's Most Influential People in the World

Time magazine hits the newsstands tomorrow with it's 100 Most Influential People in the World issue. The list contains the likes of Rosie O'Donnell,Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Borat. However , the list leaves out George Bush. What are some of your opinions on "the list"? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070503/...people_time100

Re: Time magazine's Most Influential People in the World

i think the list is pretty inclusive. i was a little surprised to see that Bush was not on there, but then I started thinking. I wonder if it is because people are so split on him or because the only memorable thing I can think of that he did was the war in Iraq. While the war is very debatable and many people have a stand on it, they are divided. Unlike many of the other people on the list that have created conflicts, such as OMar Hassan Al-Bashir, who has helped with the crisis in Darfur, among other things. People are united over this conflict and agree that it must end.

Overall, the list does a pretty good job at pointing certain people out that may not be recognized. I personally liked the Heroes and Pioneers section.

Here's a link to the 100 people

i know i'll be picking up a copy tomorrow when it hits stands. (and yes i'm a nerd like that)

Not surprising, the only influence he has left is to block the decisions of his country's democratically-elected government. He's a has-been.

I found the various comments at the Talk Back blog more interesting.

Least influential magazine: Time

TIME has lost ALL credibility. Claiming that these 100 are "the MOST influential" is down right insanity. Perhaps may of they are "popular" with the "in-crowd" but to say that most of them have ANY ability to influence the lives of the majority of Americans or have ANY impact whatsoever on the future of America or the entire "free-world" for that matter is ridiculous. It's incredibly niave or just plain stupid that TIME and it's staff would leave off the President of the United States (regardless of who it is)! But, give the fact that TIME and all the lib's HATE the president and all he stands for, I am not surprised by their deliberate snub of the President. May the issue of TIME go the way of all the other worthless publications and rags... straight to the trash can!

For a man who has no influence, President George Bush sure has a lot of you moonbats after his butt!

So Osama Bin Laden is now a praised leader and revolutionary? Last time I checked he is a terrorist.

I agree this f'ing magazine has no credibility.

I stopped reading after I saw the first person in the first section, Tina Fey.

Still don't know how she made it on SNL, she's not funny. Well no one on SNL is now.

The Rock station I listen to in the mornings was discussing this. From what I've gathered since I've listened to them for years now are that they are more to liberal side. They just pointed out, that it doesn't matter how you feel about him, the President should be on there.

Now matter the administration, ALL residing Presidents should be on the list.

Re: Time magazine's Most Influential People in the World

If it's about influence, then I agree with Tex; any incumbent prez, regardless of popularity, should be included on the list.

Influence means a lot of different things. It doesn't all have to be good. OBL is a good case-in-point.

It's all bullshit.
