Exclamation Ignition Problems

My 98 bonnie Sse is having ignition problems. Example i can drive my car to the point where it is fully heated. Turn it off for what ever reason and restart it. The car squells and acts like it does't want to start. Another example is if the car is cold and i go to start it, it surges. Other information on my car is it has 98k miles, new spark plugs, fuel injection system cleaned, new ignition wires. I've also noticed a loss of power and acelleration. Gas mileage has dropped and ideling is rougher than i would like. Any suggestions on what this could be will be greatly apprecaited.

Re: Ignition Problems

I had problem with acceleration and rough idle by 300 rpms in drive. i changed the PCV Valve and ended up fixing the problem some. The PCV Valve costs under 4 dollars. See if that helps. Have you had your battery checked, it might be with your battery that its losing power, had that already where the battery would bounce bewteen 12 and 14 then had trouble starting up.

Re: Ignition Problems

Im going to look into the pcv valve, since it's cheap i can afford to hit and miss with that repair. But battery isn't a year old, but cleaning all the connection might go a long way. I do have a 1200 watt amp on the battery and new 4ohm speakers(replaced BOSE). This hasn't effected the car though, as it was like this before and after. So im going to replace the valve and if that fixes it great. If not im going to look into the coils and fuel pump and pressure. Maybe clean the throttel body too. Any more input would be greatly appeciated.

Re: Ignition Problems

I just drove my car and the battery on start up is on 14 or slightly above. It surged a little bit to. But any way i drove it and it picked up and overall drove good. BUt im at a light the battery guauge does drop below 14. It goes back up when i start driving. This applies to the oil gauge to. i don't know if that is normal or not. Iv'e also noticed over a long period of driving the peformance of the car drops drasticly. I belive this is where i start to burn alot of gas. For example i burn more gas commin back then going some where if the drive is long enough. Fuel pump Going out on me? or cutting out when it gets hot
