Hello and thanks in advance to anyone that can help me with my problem. I am currently swapping a D16Z5 1.6L EDM DOHC out of a european spec CRX with my D15B2 in my 89 DX (4 door) Everything is complete except for the wiring (ECU), I cannot figure it out, I asked some friends and they dont know either, I took it to a mechanic friend but he is lost as well, keep in mind that I am stationed in Germany!!!
I have both wiring harnesses complete and computers, basically both cars; is there anyone that can help me with this?? I am trying to get this going and catch a few races before I get sent to the sand again!! |

Re: Stuck In Mid Swap!!
i dont know how they do it there but the dx's in america have dpfi. and the d16z6's have mpfi so basicly thats a start. you need to either convert. or swap the complete wiring harness. which might be a pain but i think that can be done.

Re: Stuck In Mid Swap!!
Did you put the mpfi intake manifold on with the new D16 you swapped in? You'll want to do that and swap the wiring to mpfi. There are write ups available just do a search. Also, there is no need to swap the whole harness. It's only a couple extra wires for the dohc engine. You'll have to plug in the ecu that came with the new engine (PM7?). Do a search for mpfi wiring and de/re-pinning to the ecu. Bambam89lx has explained this before and even provided simple pics showing which ecu pins need to be de/re-pinned. GL
