93' Grand Caravan Overheating
I have changed the thermostat and replaced a cracked radiator with a new one after the van overheated, but it is still overheating after all of this. What could the problem be? Some are saying the thermostat could be the problem. Could this be true after replacing it? The water pump was replaced about a year ago.
Help it is my daughter's primary transportation and getting quite expensive to this point. |

Re: 93' Grand Caravan Overheating
Welcome to the forum. Could be the thermostat. Could be another bad pump. Can you see flow in the top of the radiator? Does the upper hose harden up and get hot? Are the cooling fans coming on? Does it overheat fairly quick? OK at high speed?

Re: 93' Grand Caravan Overheating
Does it have rear heat?
Check for rusted out water lines. Check for leaky heater core. Have system pressure tested. Maybe you warped a head when it over heated, check for leakage on head gasket corners. |

Re: 93' Grand Caravan Overheating
We have a '98 Grand Voyager (3.3L, 95k+) that has the same problem. We had the radiator replaced a week ago because of a hole. Up till yesterday it was fine. On a long road trip it started to overheat. It is going back to the shop today. There is coolant in the reservoir but not as much as when it left the shop, still above min. line. I can't see coolant in the top of the radiator. We still have heat. There was a large puddle of water underneath the vehicle this morning, no coolant from what I could see. Any ideas, Theromstate? Water pump? Heater Core?
