Re: new truck and want to do hi4

don't know what year truck you have but a number of people make a little relay kit that solves this problem. I think painless is one of the better priced ones. I have one on my 92K 1500 not hard to do.

WOW! if you are an ASE Master Technician (like your signature claims), you should be able to read a schematic and come up with a way to do it on your own.

Re: new truck and want to do hi4

I would go with the 2 first responses, they seem the most helpful.
GOOD LUCK

Re: new truck and want to do hi4

All you need is a continuos duty starter solenoid--NAPA has these for about 50 bucks. One wire 10--12 gauge from battery to one of the large posts on solenoid. One wire 12 gauge to low beam hot wire from other large post on solenoid. One wire 12 gauge from high beam hot wire to the positve small terminal on the solenoid. You can put a 12 gauge wire from the negative or ground terminal on the solenoid to ground for a better ground, but the body of the solenoid is grounded and if you have mounted it firmly metal to metal it will be grounded already. This solenoid is an all metal solenoid used on cop cars and marine applications for continous duty. If you need more info send me a private message with your email or phone and I will try to help you. Good luck.
