Changing the Airbag Module in a 99 Maxima
I've been driving my maxima for a year and a half now... Airbag lights been on since I bought the thing. I just got a new module for it and am ready to install it. I just need some instruction on how to do it properly. I hear that I need to dissconnet the battery for 24 hours prior. I just dont want them to blow the second I connect the battery cable.

Re: Changing the Airbag Module in a 99 Maxima
This is my business...this one's on the house. the airbag control unit is in the console. It's an easy replacement. Check out this page 1st though
http://airbagsolutions.com/ControlUnit.pdf Also, disconnect the battey and wait for at least 10 minutes before getting into the system. This will give the capacitors time to discharge. Check out our website for all your airbag servie or airbag information Good luck...you should be fine

Re: Changing the Airbag Module in a 99 Maxima
K I changed the airbag with no problem. Just wanted to let everyone know that there are 2 different airbag modules for maximas w/side airbags and w/o side airbags. I picked one up w/o side airbags. A front only module will work on a setup that has side airbags. They are contoled seperatly by the same unit.
