02 Oldsmobile Intrigue vs 04 Malibu
My daughter currently has a 97 Malibu and we'll looking to get her a newer car for college graduation. She's debating between another 04 Malibu or a 2002 Oldmobile Intrigue. The dealer is offering them for the same price, and both have under 60,000 miles on them and are local trades. I'm not familiar with the Intrigue, but I know a lot of people have problems with the Malibu, we have been lucky and were able to repair the manifold on the 97 - and no other problems so far, but its pushing 110,000 miles and with her relocating dad won't be able to catch problems before they become major. What's everyone else's opinion on these two cars. And does it matter is the 4 cyl better/worse than the 6 cyl? Is one better on gas mileage - my daughter has it in her head that the Oldmobile will get bad gas mileage. Any help would be great.

Re: 02 Oldsmobile Intrigue vs 04 Malibu
run your previous car into the ground before you buy another one. -You know the car and its' problems and have dealt with it before. If it is a good car I would keep it and not buy another.
The Intrigue is a better car than the Malibu. Even the Malibu Maxx with the 3.5L The 4cyl Malibu will most likely get more MPG than the Intrigue. If you really want to get the Intrigue then by all means get the Intrigue. 2002 is the last year. Compare the two cars, drive them and figure which one works better for you. Remember a 2002 car is already 5 years old. How much are they asking for the 2002 Intrigue? |
