1994 TC with gas gauge and trunk problems

It would appear that my 94' is slowing slipping into old age, as a couple of things are starting to mess up.
First, the auto close trunk lid, it'll latch just fine, but when the auto close feature is supposed to kick in ........ it doesn't. But here's the best part, when I come back to the car at a later time, the truck is incompletely closed, so I know the auto close is kicking in at some point. Anyone have this happen, and have some resolution?

Second, the gas gauge readouts, both the "miles remaining" number and the actual "bar" column, are also refusing to offer up real quantity of gas in the tank. Is there some module under the hood that could be the culprit, or am I going to have to have the tank pulled to correct the problem? Any and all responses are greatly appreciated.

BTW, she only has 90,000 on her.

gas guage u probobly have a broken float its cracked probobly and has fuel in it thats what i would guess
