ABS light
Hey,
I have just joined this site, it looks great. 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GT My ABS & Trac. lights are on. I am pretty sure it is the right front sensor. Does anybody know how to get the lights off. I can not change the sensor right now and the lights are driving me crazy. Thanks for your help. Mike |

Re: ABS light
Sorry but unless you change the sensor the light will continue to illuminate indicating you have a problem. Try a piece of black tape over the light if it gets too annoying until you can get it fixed.

Re: ABS light
Not a whole lot. Take a look at this vid.http://www.wkyc.com/news/news_articl...?storyid=64778
I was one of the first persons to try to save this guys life. Sad story. You know what, this guy should just get it changed out. Even if the light went off for 1 day, it will be on the next. |

Re: ABS light
I agree that it will pop right back on as soon as you drive the car. The harness coming out of the hub on my left front got cut somehow last summer, and until I repaired it, the ABS/trac-off lghts came on as soon as the car moved after resetting it. I repaired the harness with crimp connectors and liquid electrical tape. I'm not changing the hub until it starts making noise, and so far the repair has held with no issues.

Re: ABS light
Hey,
Thanks for all your replies. I did have it scanned and the shop told me it was the right front wheel sensor. I guess the best thing to do is to just replace it. I don't think it is a hard job. I will just need a 36mm (I think) for the main center nut. Any tips? Thanks Mike |
