Porsche GT3 RSR LeMans 2005
After Posting my first finished Model here last week I will show you my latest Car.
It is from Provence Miniatures in 1:43 and I tried to build a resin car and learn from it because I have the 1:24 Aston Martin DBR from MFH. I got a few problems with this build but I could fix most of them. For example I ruined the rims. I read that it is possible to seperate CA-glued PE-Parts from other parts with drain cleaner. And I'm able to give you good news: It works perfect!!! But please never try this if you glued PE's to white metall. The cleaner "seems" to be to strong for this kind of material. I know this for shure after taking a look at my mostly resolved rims. OK, the PE-Parts where separated as I wanted them.jaykay640 from this board helped me with rims that he didn't want to use. So I could tell everyone out there that he is a very special guy and this car wouldn't not be the same without his help. After beeing so happy with my news rims I forgot to install the brakes before gluing them again. Thats real modelling art!The windshield had a small scratch of works and I tried to polish it like on the big cars (1:24). Bad Idea also! I ruined the window competly. I'm not able right now to paint this tiny frames on new plastic so I glued the bad window to the car and will replace it after improving my masking skills. Except for this mistakes I used some mesh instead of the PE-Parts at the front, build a roll-cage from styrene, scratch build the fasteners and added some wires in the cockpit. For the yellow parts of the body I didn't used the offered decals but painted it with tamiya-spray. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I hope you like the car and would be very happy for any comments and advises. Very nice!!
At 1/43, that's very impressive IMHO. Congratulations on a great build.

Good results!
Overcoming the problems and fixing mistakes is what makes a model builder good. |
