Only when I hit a big bump my Steering wheel vibrates crazy like, almost to the point I can't control it. It doesn't pull to neither side nor does it vibrate or make sounds when I hit the brakes. I have to wait to take it to the mechanic until my funds are a little better. Im a little mechanically inclined and can do a some stuff by myself. I've been told it could be a worprd rotor, Stabilizer bar, or steering gear box going out. The steering wheel has normal play in it. Can somebody please help with some suggestions if you know anything like this.

Re: 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado
In Jeep circles this is known as "Death Wobble." I've experienced it myself and it does get your attention. No one I know has pinned down the exact cause, but I believe it's a combination of things--is your jeep lifted?
Are the suspension parts worn? Does one caliper seize on occasion? Sorry, there is no simple answer. The front suspension needs to be checked over by a competent mechanic. Here are some possible causes- Track Bar worn or loose Bad Hubs Tie Rod ends worn or loose (either drag link or Tie Rod) Alignment issues Tire Balance Problems or out of round tires. Control Arm Bushings. Steering stabilizer bad. Worn Steering Box Last edited by Bob D.; 04-14-2007 at 01:11 AM. |
