Hello all,
I recently installed a remote start on my 1996 Buick Riviera S/C. After a ridiculous amount of wire splicing and removal of the gauge cluster, my traction control button doesn't toggle the t.c. on and off. So it's just stuck in the on position. Has anyone had this problem, or does anyone know of some obvious fix? Thanks, Doug

Re: Traction Control Won't Toggle
when you say its stuck ON you mean traction control is working? or do you mean the light is on and traction control is OFF? i asume you had the dash apart to install all of this, so are you sure you pluged the wires back into the button and they are secure? does your OD reset work?
and one last question, have you verified that the trac really is on or off? ie spin the tires and listen for the EBCM to cut on. you could just have a dead bulb where the "trac off" light is. how about checking all the fuses, they may not be labled as trac ctrl so check all of them under the seat. |

Re: Traction Control Won't Toggle
Yes, it is stuck in the on position (no light), and I have checked by trying to spin the tires and t.c. does kick in.
When you say od reset, are you talking about the odometer trip reset? I have not tried this, but will tomorrow. I feel pretty confident about the reconnection, but I will also confirm that tomorrow. Thanks for the reply.

Re: Traction Control Won't Toggle
Ok, so the O.D. trip reset doesn’t work, the connection seems good however. So after work today I guess I’ll do a little voltage testing on the button and wires.

Re: Traction Control Won't Toggle
check the fuses too. the button could have been wired to a fuse under the rear seat that has nothing to do with traction or OD so check them all.

Re: Traction Control Won't Toggle
I checked all the fuses, and they all checked out. I guess it must be the button, thanks for the help.
