95 Riviera problem,emergent!

Hi guys,
I am sorry to post so many post here. But now my car has a problem recently.
The car engine goes to over 3000rpm. But the speed is stay around 10 miles/h.
Looks like I just could not let the car speed up.

Then I pulled off the road and wait for a quite while. Restarted the car and it is ok at this moment. However I can see that the engine is not so strong at this moment. I just could not get the speed as I used to do.

So anybody can tell me what's the problem? engine? supercharger? or Transimission.

Thank you for your reply.

Re: 95 Riviera problem,emergent!

I am by no means a mechanic, but I purchased a 2002 LeSabre Custom about 2 years ago from a dealer. I didn't have it 30 days and it started to exhibit the same symptoms you are describing at about 70,000 miles. I suspected the FWD transmission immediatley and called the dealer that sold it to me over 260 miles away. The said DON"T DRIVE IT. They had it towed to a Buick dealer 100 miles away (a sister dealership) who fixed it under the 30 day warranty I was given.

I don't know what it actually cost to fix, but that was the problem. Apparently, this was another one of those known 2002 vehicle GM problems that GM didn't want to fix under warranty. The dealer ended up eating the cost and I am sure lost any profit they made off me and then some. I also have an 01, same model and am holding my breath on that one. It has about 50k miles now.

Check with a good mechanic and I think he will confirm the diagnosis. Good Luck!!!

Sounds like trans slippage but from here it is impossible to diagnose a problem like this. Someone has to check this out for you when this happens or look at factors that may be an issue such as a scan or road test.
