1997 Sable
I own a 97 Sable. I had rear struts ad springs replaced at the week-end. The tech told me there is a noise coming from the engine like the lifters.
I have 249,000km on the original 3.3 engine. Does anyone have an idea what this might be? Do I need a new engine perhaps? thanks |

Re: 1997 Sable
The car does have high km, but if it has passed etest I would not waste money on a new engine. You might want to add a bottle of lucas motor oil treatment with your next oil change that might help cut down on the noise. When you have high km on your car its best to just replace the whole engine, with that said even if this engine blows up on you there is nothing lost since it will need replacement anyways... The engine can out last the car or the transmissing as-is. Enjoy it while it lasts, replace it when needed.....
