Aoshima Silvia s15
Hey everyone
Ordered my first kit outside Norway, from Hiroboy.com last week, and it arived in the mail today ( Vacation and an almost standstill in the norwegian post office due to easter, but i still got this kit insanely fast!) ![]() Ill take some pics and try to do a nice Wip of this project, but its my first ever non out of the box build, and im usually used to building aircrafts, and its my first wip thread, so bare with me I did some googeling on silvia pics and fel in love with this ![]() as its exactly the style im looking for, nothing too ricy Interior vice im going for some seats i got off my friends evo 9 wrc. I allready made some buckles by bending guitar wire (ill post some pics later, with something else then my cellphone camera). Im also thinking about making a rollcage for the part behind the front seats, but not sure yet. Big thanks to this forum for loads of tips, tricks and tutorials that i have picked up during my time reading here

Re: Aoshima Silvia s15
And the seats. Sorry about the bad picture, but i couldnt get a hold of another camera
![]() At the moment im unsure if I will be keeping the backseats or remove them and make a rollcage. The front seats would in no way be adjustable to let anyone access the backseats anyways. I just want to find a way to make the interior and inner dors etc that will remain stock, blend in with the stripped back of the car in the case i remove the backseats. Is it normal to have a "wall" between the back and the trunk? or will it be open all the way to the trunk? |

Re: Aoshima Silvia s15
Nice start on the seats! Are you going to make the exterior like the picture? It would take alot of work but the end result is what makes all the hard work worth it. Keep up the nice work!

Re: Aoshima Silvia s15
thanks for the replies
Im not making the exterior a replica of that picture. Im in love with the stance and especially how the rear of the car seems a bit raised (migt be the angle of the photo though). Anyways, its the stance and that feel i want to achieve Done some progress today, but still no camera, hope to get one tomorrow (i do got the steps on my phone cam, and ill post those tomorrow aswell )done with one of the sideskirts. Scratched it for different parts of styrene sheets. did a lip under the front bumper and made the intake on top of it. I also started the atempt to get the rear end of the car how i want it. Decieded to get rid of the backseats. No stock interior anymore, full racing with roll cage, extra fuel tank for racing fuel, simplified door panels, possible nos bottle, racing steeringwheel. So no lambo doors for this one Bai:P I saw the vertex ridge kit when i ordered this one, but i think it was out of stock, and i was so excited i couldnt wait :P I did however order a Tamiya r32 a couple of days later, and im thinking about getting the veilside r32 from Aoshima and steal some parts from that for my next project. I really enjoy this

Re: Aoshima Silvia s15
And some pictures as promised
![]() first of all a much better shot of the seats in sunlight with my cellphone cam ( that actually works better than the digital cam with almost twice the megapixels ) Im quite happy about the guitar string as buckle so far, but in the future ill go for photoetch For color, im either going semigloss red ( like the picture in the first post appears), gloss black or bright yellow. Im also considering metallic blue, as i got on a porsche 959 im soon done with Some pictures of the sideskirts asembly I sanded the skirts smooth, but there is still some minor marks in them showing after primer. Ive puttied up the marks and they will be sanded Painted the exhaust on the underside, and on the side you can see the suport and thickness of the sideskirts I removed the backseats of the car, and made a plate along the floor going all the way back. Im planning on detailing it and adding a extra fuel tank for racing, when its all sanded smooth and even more to come

Re: Aoshima Silvia s15
The red on that S15 isn't semi gloss, it's a full gloss. I don't think a semi gloss red would look to good. The build is looking pretty good so far. But I think the side skirts are extended a little too low.

Just noticed its the rear tire thats in the wrong position on that picture. The rear isnt suposed to be lowered that much, ill try to take a nice stance picture and show how i want it ![]() Edit: think this represents pretty much my desired stance, perhaps a bit more camber on the wheels

Re: Aoshima Silvia s15
The red car in your first post is Taniguchi's personal vehicle.

Re: Aoshima Silvia s15
I made that exact model late last year. I'm still trying to see who would lend me a camera so I can post it up. Looking good so far. Is there a tutorial on making those side skirts? They came out looking nice.
