Did I screw my bushings up?

I got a new lift and as expected, about a month later the bushings started squeakin' in the front and groanin' in the back. I took it in to the lift shop and the lubed it . the sounds went away for a month or two, but now the front right something is squeakin' on the downs and the back (mostly front right and rears on both) leaf bushings are groaning on the roads. It's not too loud but for what I payed for the kit and how far I had to drive to the shop I took some red Chrysler chassis grease and smeared in some. This is after whole can of sil lube over a month or so more.
Nothing has worked . I wanted to try white lithium spray, But that red crap ain't comin' off too easy.

Re: Did I screw my bushings up?

You didnt screw them up. Let me guess, they are all polyurethane bushings? I avoid poly for two reasons, 1). it squeeks, 2). its harder than rubber and doesnt flex like rubber does.

Re: Did I screw my bushings up?

Rught on. Is there anything I can do besides replace them? They came with the lift, so I don't wanna feel like I wasted money. I know poly kinda sucks but if I'm stuck with it is there anything I can do?

Re: Did I screw my bushings up?

Short of replacing the poly with rubber, i would say keep them greased as well as possible and double check that the bolts are torqued correctly. the bolts for the control arms and leaf springs dont gt tightened as much as other bolts the same size because theres supposed to be movement of those components. I dont have the torque specs in front of me right now.

Question Re: Did I screw my bushings up?

if poly sucks, then why do all the companies use it in their kits?? Just wondering if there are any benefits to poly over rubber

It's lot firmer than rubber. When your Jeep comes from the factory, they want a smooth, quiet ride.

When you lift your Jeep you don't want any play in the parts, so they include polyurethane, which doesn't give as much as rubber (and helps avoid Death Wobble). The price you pay for firmness is noise.

Re: Did I screw my bushings up?

Thanks Ya'll. LOL
Kinda figured poly was stiff. Nice to know I can feel good about it when she moans and squeeks. That is the happy rig with new firmly packed joints
Thanks Fred, Ray, and Citizen!! LOL
